Journey to Hong Kong
The 4d 3n trip to Hong Kong was pretty much memorable, since it was usually a once-in-a-year thing to go overseas for holiday. During this free-&-easy trip we actually didnt do much sightseeing, so not many nice pics to take ): however, there were quite some interesting and rare sights that I saw. So for the first time, i'm going to insert some pics in my post and talk about them x) and darren, sorrie but this post is going to be looooonnnngggg...so if u're busy and g2g soon, or if u're sleepy and feel like sleeping, i would strongly recommend u not to view this post. hehe, but if u're really really really bored. Ya, u're mostly welcome...
15th dec, we reached the airport, checked in, passed customs, went into the areoplane, and took off around 5.20pm...heres a picture from the areoplane window as we were flying over Malaysia.
So after we touched down in Hong Kong at around 9pm, we waited for a shuttle bus before it took us to our hotel called "BP International House" which was along Austin Road. It took me quite a long while to notice, but if I wasnt wrong, part of my hotel was kinda like the Boy's Scout headquarters in Hong Kong.
Firstly, there was a big Scout logo on the building. In the lobby, there was a big Braden Powell picture and also a bronze statue of some scouts. After checking in and entering the lift, I also notice that on the 11th floor it says "scout shop" o.O...however, it was pretty late already, so the scout shop wasnt open. So the lift passed the 11th storey and arrived on the 15th. Shared room with bro while parents took another room x)

16th dec-everyone woke up earlier then me. i'm lazy...however i was still forced to wake up early, around 7am+. We ate breakfast in some stall. Well there were really many stalls to choose from which were everywhere around the country along every street, so yeah...after that we walked to the train station which was underground, and bought tickets to go to Lo Wu, which was in China. We planned to go there for cheaper shopping. Anyway the picture briefly describes how the train in HK is similar to Sg's MRT, except that the word 'FINE' is smaller compared to Sg's. Way smaller, thats why u cant see it now.

Anyway the journey there was kinda screwed up. After reaching Lo Wu, we passed China customs and started searching for stuff to shop. Entered a shopping centre, but the stuff there was totally...shit. Nothing was branded, or at least imitated branded, nothing. Everything was totally shitty. Left the building and looked around to realise that Lo Wu had fewer shopping centres then we expected. *sigh* Not to waste time though, we quickly decided to go back to HK to do some proper shopping instead of wasting more time in Lo Wu. So we spend 2hrs in China before passing China customs again and purchasing a ticket and taking a train back to the train station we came from.
So after around 1hr, we arrived at our destination.
Walked out of the train station and went to a nearby chinese restaurent to eat lunch. Food looks quite good eh?
For the first time I saw real life protest, quite a small bunch, but good enough. The people were "camping" in front of a building in between the train station entrance/exits, and a mosque. There were quite a few policement around the area but anyway nothing much happened ): so we stared at them for 5min before walking away. We walked the same way as we walked to the train station that morning from the hotel, where there were quite a long stretch of shops selling branded goods along that street. Price wasnt that cheap, anyway, we all bought some stuff from those few shops, before heading back to the hotel.

I decided to try to go to the 11th storey again. Yay, it was open. The lift doors opened and woah...the place really had some atmosphere. The level had wooden walls all over the place, there were many history descriptions of the scouts in HK, there were also scout figures, and also many scout equipments, all on display. Some were for sale too. Bought some stuff there (: There were also badges actually, wanted to buy some to bullshit, but decided not to since it would be humiliation to the current sec3s as they had a pathetic amount of badges. lol jk =P Quite a cool place actually, hmm there was even a "scout tution centre". LOL...sth like that la, to teach kids about scout stuff. After that we went back to our rooms to rest for awhile before going out again, this time to see chrismas decorations in HK central itself.

Took us quite awhile actually, to find the correct place to look at the chrismas decorations. Anyway we found it at last, after a few hours of walking, asking, and searching. The decorations were nice (: err...but dam, i could haf wished for sth more nicer then that though ): -real life riots. hehe. so we walked for awhile more before heading back to the train station we came from.
We ate some really nice desert from one of the branches of this desert store. YUMMY!
After eating, we headed to "temple st" to do some roadside shopping. The stuff were cheap, dead cheap (: but of coz', the stuff would spoil easily too. Hope it would last longer then i expect...it was cool though, using some bargaining skills and technique to fetch a good price, which i learnt from online games i played. So after walking for a few hours, gosh i was fricking tired, leg about to break, never did i shop like that before, still it was nothing much compared to most of the girls in Sg. Nothing much happened after that, we went back to hotel and rest...yawn.

17th dec- Woke up slightly later at 9am+ and walked to some stall in some street across some other road which sold noodles which we ate for breakfast. Went to another stall to have coffee, before taking a train to causeway bay to shop again. Went into SOGO but found nothing nice to buy, or should I say...nothing cheap. So me and my bro went out of the building while my parents went to do somemore window shopping in the building. Well, guess wad, we saw ppl protesting on the street...kinda cool, lol. Another interesting experience.

The protesters were making their way towards Lockhard Rd, from East Causeway Bay Road. There were many policemen around, pretty much doing nothing besides staring at the protesters. In fact, that night i saw on the news that the protesters actually rioted. Some of these protesters were probably part of the bunch which rioted.
Anyway, we didnt buy anything from SOGO, so after that we continued walking and walking, passing buy many shops selling pretty good branded stuff, but we didnt buy them, so we continued walking till we reached TIMES SQUARE...yep. Its a big shopping centre...

Took an escalator to the "First Storey" of the shopping centre. First thing i saw as the escalator was moving up was a big huge chrismas tree, the tip reached like the 3rd and a half storey of the shopping centre...then when i walked away from the escalator, i saw a display of some HP4 stuff. And then I saw a HERMIONE!...aha, not her in person though, just a picture of her. I'll go crazy if i ever saw her in person. HMM X)...well the picture is still good enough for me. hehe.

Anyway, after me staring at her beautiful picture for quite awhile, we continued shopping. Prices for everything was pretty much the same as Singapore, maybe just slightly cheaper, so we didnt buy much stuff there ): I bought a shoe at least. (: Went out of the building after walking about for quite awhile, and made our way to another branch of the desert shop we went to the previous day. Well, the desert is good though i must say, thats why we kept coming back. After eating, we went to a roadside stall selling some snacks and bought them and eat sumore, hehe. Then we took a train from causeway bay back to jordan train station and continued shopping along yet another stretch of shops selling pretty good branded stuff, this time much cheaper then the usual price, as we headed to the direction of our hotel.
We managed to buy some stuff from those shops. Then we went back to our hotel room to rest. Heres a view from my hotel room window.
After resting for around 1/2 hour we took a train again to some train station which was 2 stops away. Holy shit boy the place was really shit crowded when we exited from the train station.

The streets, walkways and road itself was packed with people, cant even walk. Saturday nightlife for them, cant help it eh? So we decided to eat first, maybe wait awhile then the crowd will be lesser. Ate at a 2 storey restaurent, pretty cool...got escalator 1. lol. 2nd steamboat during this trip. (:
After spending quite awhile cooking and eating away, we packed into the not so crowded crowd and started making our way towards Ladies Market. Also another night market, pretty much similiar to the one on Temple Street. Walked like hell again, spend quite a long time walking there, at least managed to bought some good stuff. Everyone did. Ahh but it was bloody tiring...and bargaining was pretty tough. The ppl selling the stuff there were pretty gloomy...yeah. If u dont buy from them and walk away, they'll like mutter stuff under their breathe. Life likes that huh? Tsk tsk...
At least after being tired we get treated to more deserts. Yeap, we ate at yet another branch of the desert store. Its really good desert la...thats why we ate at the place 3 times, each time eating different stuff of course...
After eating we took a train back again, i kept noticing the HP4 advertisements, lol, so sad, their HP4 is coming out only on the 22nd of dec, while in Sg we've already stopped watching it, or at least nearly. Shows that their pretty lag huh? hmm...anyway no harm done, i was pretty glad actually, since theres HP4, theres Hermione. haha...
After arriving back at the train station, we continued walking as we headed to our hotel, along the way we still kept scanning the area to see if there is anything nice to buy. Stopped a desert stall again, sat down, and ate the delicious stuff. Black, smooth, fine, tasty, sweet, nutritious stuff. No fricking idea what its called anyway...lol.ZZ.
So after that we went back to our hotel...walking back again. Nth much happened after that la...tired like hell, went to sleep liao.
18th dec-AHH last day in HK. Woke up early, around 7am. First time in those 3 days where i bathed in the morning, lol. I was too tired to do so the previous 2 days' morning. Went walking and finding breakfast. Found one pretty easily, since there were really many food stalls everywhere. Good food...good food. Beef noodles, egg, toast, milk tea. Not very traditional in hk, but still good.
After that...nothing much happened la. Went back to hotel and waited for shuttle bus to pick us up and bring us to the airport. Reached airport quite early and walked around looking for the right place to checkin...checked in liao, then walk around see got nice things to buy in airport since its tax free...i think? I didnt buy anything though, mom bought a hell lot of tidbits...ZZZ...anyway its to giveaway, lol i then dont want to eat them. After that we went through customs and then waited at the waiting area before entering the plane. Yep...flight is at 12.15pm.
Stoned inside the plane for awhile, looked out of the window, we're still in hongkong, still on the ground. Sigh...
Finally plane took off...we're in the air x) above Hong Kong still...yawn...faster faster...i want go back home and sleep.
Yay...after a long wait. Eat and sleep, wake up eat again, sleep again. After a long 3 and a half hours, we're back home. In Singapore. Home sweet home, touchdown!!!...So yeah...u should be able to guess wad happens after that. We left the plane, passed Singapore customs real quickly, Singapore welcomes their citizens back u know. Yay!...then my dad drove home. He parked his car in the airport x) Yay, and I reached home...things after that...for u to guess.
Some points which I wanna remind myself about the trip...
-The place i went was actually Kowloon Island, not exactly Hong Kong.
-I experienced looking at 2 protest groups, but no riots. dam ):
-Saw alot of riots at causeway bay and hk central on the news, but didnt experienced it in real life ):
-Ate steamboat twice in different restaurents
-Ate desert 6 times, in 4 different stalls. Desert rocks
-I think i fricking spelt dessert wrongly, gosh dont laugh, i apologise, pls change wad u see as desert to dessert. Thanks...
-Lo Wu shopping sucks for wad i knw, ppl there ****s more.
-HK ppl wun so bad, but all spoke cantonese...didnt sound very friendly.
-Night Market Stall ppl sucks like hell...probably professional scammers, most of them. Some were nice but i didnt take notice.
-Hermione looks good everywhere, even when the environment of her picture sucks.
-The train i took was crowded most of the time, fricking dam gay crowded.
-The pedestrian crossings are useless, ppl cross whenever, even when it is red men. They cross even if the car is approaching.
-Theres a hell lot of ppl everywhere, on sat night, theres alot of cute girls too.
-Theres alot of RA stuff, not for the young and the innocent, dont bring young kids to hong kong. Or simply keep them in Singapore, coz its the only place where u dont see porn on the streets.
-Night Market selling vibrators for women, disgusting. Ppl buy them openly, women are horny there.
-Ppl pretty much walk everywhere there, they use public transport too though.
-I think their over populated, theres a hell lot of ppl everywhere, theres excessive use of transport.
-Most of the time, the train is full. It is especially full when ppl finished work.
-Policemen and protesters are mainly patient, they do waiting games.
-Riots are deadly, ppl get injured.
-I left HK on the day the WTO thingy ended, i'm glad its over. But for many i think they didnt like the ending. Still have no fricking idea wad its exactly about. Life's unfair? It is isnt it?
Ok finally i finished the journey to HK...took me quite awhile. So whoever views it hope u enjoy it...maybe tag on my tagboard about it k? (: Ciao...
